Information about the boats we build

Power

Contemporary Technology with Traditional Style

There are many power boats available on the market but at Van Munster Boats, we have taken a great deal of pleasure in developing a more traditional style boat that still takes advantage of the modern technologies we have available to us.  The Sanctuary 620 is such a boat. This pretty trailable motor launch is proudly Australian inspired, designed and built. At 6.2m (21ft) and with a displacement of just 1240kgs the Sanctuary 620 it is easy to handle. You can leisurely cruise all day at 6-7knots with the reliable 30hp Yanmar diesel. Using the boat won’t break the bank as it draws on just 3-5 litres per hour. The shaft drive diesel provides plenty of power for a top speed of 14knots.

The Sanctuary 620 delivers simplicity, versatility and practicality making the boat easy to use and a pleasure to own.

Yachts

Custom Yacht Design & Construction

What makes a yacht built by Van Munster Boats different? Well, it starts with the owner's commission to build and design. We play an integral part in finalising the design so the yacht is optimised for performance for the owner as part of the design and build process. You could say that's our point of difference. A Bit Of History

The 18-Footers Class was born in the 1890's to satisfy a need for a boat, which was within the means of the "average man" and would provide good competitive racing to attract public interest.
These rules have been framed to uphold this philosophy.
• To provide good, fair, close racing;
• To minimise the cost of competition;
• To produce an attractive vehicle for public entertainment;
• To provide enjoyment for all competitors and
• To encourage new recruits.
• To stabilise the class by restricting hull shape until the year 2008, but allowing all other rules to be reviewed year by year, so as to accommodate in particular carbon fibre masts, boom and wings as they become more cost effective.
In all cases of dispute, the intent and spirit of the Rules will take precedence.
